Our neighbors recently brought home their new baby and I made this Winnie the Pooh Quilt to welcome our newest addition to the neighborhood. I used bright and vibrant colors to reflect their family’s energy, and I used my signature meander quilting to hold everything together .
Meandering or stippling is a process of quilting using random swirls and curves. Quilting, much like any other art form, has hundreds of opinions of what is right and what is wrong technique; and meandering is a hotly contested subject. I love randomness and the flow of meandering stitches. Combing the precision of my quilt tops with the nonconformity of my quilting is quite literally having the best of both worlds.
